Lisa Bryan LPN, 2026

Lisa Bryan, LPN, recently went above and beyond to help a patient overcome financial, transportation, and social barriers to obtaining dental clearance for a lifesaving TAVR procedure.

After researching resources and developing a plan with the patient, Lisa personally drove the patient to a free dental clinic in Paris, Illinois, using her own time, vehicle, and gas. She spent the day advocating for the patient, helping secure a tooth extraction and the dental clearance needed to move forward with the procedure. The patient also received new glasses during the visit.

Lisa’s compassion, dedication, and commitment to patient care removed a critical barrier to treatment and made a lasting impact on the patient’s health and well-being. Her extraordinary efforts embody the spirit of the DAISY Award.

Lisa is also Union Health’s first Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to receive the DAISY Award.

Chasity Aguilar RN, 2026

Chasity demonstrated exceptional dedication by stepping into a chemotherapy infusion nursing role at the 4W Infusion Center during a critical staffing need. While adapting to a new department, charting system, and chemotherapy certification requirements, she continued to provide compassionate, patient-centered care. Her commitment to supporting patients and families during difficult times has made a meaningful impact and exemplifies the very best of nursing.

Katie Rollings RN, 2026

Katie recently cared for a patient admitted for failure to thrive and depression. In the matter of just a few months, the patient had endured the heartbreaking loss of both a spouse and a child. Tragically, during this same hospital stay, the patient experienced yet another loss when their sibling, who had visited them in the ER prior to admission, passed away.

Throughout this incredibly difficult time, Katie remained a steady source of comfort and compassion, spending meaningful time at the bedside offering support, kindness and reassurance when it was needed most. Later, after the patient had calmed some and returned from walking with therapy, Katie surprised them with flowers and a stuffed animal from the gift shop — a simple but deeply thoughtful gesture that brought light to an otherwise painful day.

This is just one example of the extraordinary compassion, selflessness and genuine care Katie shows every single day. The difference they make in the lives of patients goes far beyond clinical care and speaks to the heart of what it means to serve others.
