Due to a spike in respiratory viruses such as influenza, COVID-19 and Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection (RSV) in and around the Wabash Valley, effective TODAY, Thursday, January 4, 2024, Union Health has implemented temporary visitation restrictions for Union Hospital Terre Haute and Union Hospital Clinton.

Those restrictions include:

  • Visiting hours are 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Visitors must be 18 years of age or older
  • Number of visitors are now limited, depending on the area of the hospital

As a reminder, self-screening is required by all visitors and employees. For the safety of our patients, any visitor or employee experiencing any respiratory symptoms should not enter any Union Health facility, unless seeking medical treatment.

Symptoms include, but not limited to:

  • Fever (100.4 or greater)
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • Diarrhea
  • Cough
  • Muscle or Body Aches
  • Loss of Taste or Smell
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Unexplained or Unusual Fatigue
  • In the past 10 days, if you’ve been in close contact with someone known to be positive for respiratory illness or have had symptoms consistent with respiratory illness.

Patients experiencing respiratory illness MUST wear a mask upon presentation to any Union Health facility.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to wear a mask, practice proper hand hygiene, cough etiquette and social distance when possible.

In addition, it is preferred that visitors are designated to protect patients and staff due to the high level of circulating viruses.

We appreciate your assistance and patience as we transition to limited visitation to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors and staff.

Healthier, together.
