(Terre Haute, Ind.) – It’s a historic day for the Wabash Valley! The Indiana Department of Health has officially issued the Certificate of Public Advantage and the anticipated merger between Union Hospital and Terre Haute Regional Hospital is now effective as of today, December 13, 2025.

Together with the State of Indiana—driven by its unwavering commitment to safeguard and strengthen the lives of those in Terre Haute, Vigo County and beyond—we forged a path that honors accountability, expands access and secures a brighter future for our community. This milestone was made possible through the extraordinary leadership and dedication of Indiana Governor Mike Braun and Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Lindsay Weaver, whose vision helped transform possibility into progress.
