Union Health is now the official provider of sports medicine services for the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

The nationally renowned 250-acre complex is specifically designed for the sole purpose of cross country running. Its spectator-friendly layout and challenging terrain have established it as a top venue for cross country competition, earning it the nickname "Cross Country Town USA."

“We are thrilled to officially partner with the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. They are one of the premier cross-country venues in the country, and we are excited to bring our sports medicine services to serve all the athletes that compete there,” Yevette Cress, Manager, Union Health Center for Sports Medicine, said. “We strive to build strong relationships with our community partners, and this is another opportunity for Union Health to do that.”

Union Health Sports Medicine (USM) provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care for the Wabash Valley athletes. As the largest provider of sports medicine in the Wabash Valley, USM provides an effective approach to get athletes back in the game as quickly as possible.

“The new partnership between the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course and Union Health Sports Medicine is very exciting,” Jeff Martin, Facility Director, said. “It is reassuring to know that we will have the very best medical professionals tending to the athletes at our facility. Here at the Lavern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, we take pride in giving each athlete, regardless of age, a first-class experience when they compete here. This partnership will further that experience with top notch medical care before, during and after the races.”

The course hosts numerous NCAA Division I and Division III national championships and regional meets and has a unique design that allows spectators to view the entire race.

Healthier, together.
