Dr. Allison Etling is a dual board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, with a dedicated focus on caring for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Originally from Dublin, Ohio, Dr. Etling earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from DePauw University, where her commitment to inclusive care began through active involvement in the DePauw Best Buddies program.
She went on to complete her medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where she co-founded the IUSM Best Buddies Program to foster meaningful connections between medical students and individuals with IDD. Dr. Etling continued to champion this mission during her residency training at the University of Louisville, where she developed a transitions of care curriculum to equip Med-Peds residents with the tools to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for patients navigating the shift from pediatric to adult providers.
Dr. Etling’s clinical approach is rooted in advocacy, education, and a deep respect for the unique needs of her patients. Her work reflects a lifelong dedication to improving healthcare access and quality for underserved populations.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Etling enjoys life with family. Whether exploring local parks, discovering new restaurants, or diving into a board game or jigsaw puzzle, she finds joy in the simple moments that bring people together.
