Union Hospital was awarded Primary Stroke Certification by Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), the nation’s original independent, accreditation organization recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Certification confirms that Union Hospital, the only Primary Stroke Center in the Wabash Valley, is providing high quality care as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.
“We’re proud to renew this prestigious certification,” shared Union Health CEO Steve Holman. “Union Hospital first earned Primary Stroke Certification in 2009. Renewing this certification is a significant achievement that recognizes our commitment to providing compassionate care at the highest quality to all of our patients.”
“Union Hospital clearly demonstrates a commitment to quality and patient safety,” said Lawrence Haspel, DO, Chairman of the Bureau of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation for HFAP. “We base our decision on the findings of an extensive and thorough on-site review of the hospital against recognized national standards for patient safety, quality improvement, and environmental safety. Union Hospital has earned the distinction of HFAP certification through its performance in successfully meeting those standards.”
