Union Health has received a 2026 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Award for Excellence for Outstanding Postsecondary Partnership, following a nomination by Ivy Tech. The award recognizes the partnership among Ivy Tech, Union Health and WorkOne to deliver an apprenticeship program that provides Ivy Tech students with hands-on experience and a pathway into the workforce.
Presented by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and the Indiana Department of Education, the CTE Awards for Excellence celebrate students, educators, programs and partners across the state for advancing career-connected learning and meeting Indiana’s workforce needs.
Union Health’s recognition is tied to the Wabash Valley Nursing Workforce Collaborative – Ivy Tech Terre Haute, which received the 2026 CTE Awards for Excellence honor in the Postsecondary Partnership category.
“Congratulations to the students, educators and programs recognized for their outstanding achievement in Career and Technical Education,” said Dr. Katie Jenner, Indiana Secretary of Education. “CTE inspires students to discover their passions, build real-world skills and pursue their unique future aspirations. Thanks to the dedication of educators and CTE leaders across Indiana, students are gaining the knowledge and skills to succeed, ultimately strengthening our communities and shaping the future of our state.”
Through the apprenticeship program, partners work together to connect students to career opportunities, strengthen the region’s nursing talent pipeline and support high-skill, in-demand health care roles.
