Union Health is pleased to announce Dr. Joseph J. Scuorzo as its Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). A hospitalist and Medical Director of Vituity, Dr. Scuorzo brings strong expertise in clinical operations and digital integration to the role.

During his tenure, Dr. Scuorzo has led key quality initiatives focused on improving protocols, strengthening the lab/EMR interface and enhancing hospital throughput. As CMIO, he will continue building strong partnerships among clinicians, clinical staff and administrative leaders to advance the hospital’s technology and support better patient care.

“Having served as your Hospitalist Medical Director, I’ve seen firsthand how the right tools can empower us to provide better care, whether we are refining our sepsis responses or streamlining how we move patients through our units,” Dr. Scuorzo said. “My goal is to ensure our technology works for you, not the other way around. Efficiency is not about doing more; it is about having less to do. I look forward to collaborating with all of you to build a more connected and efficient clinical environment.”

Dr. Scuorzo earned his medical degree from the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
